NCRF responds to Hurricane Ida by creating NCRF Natural Disaster Relief Fundraiser

In response to the barrage of Hurricane Ida, which hit New Orleans on the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, leaders of NCRA and NCRF urged the creation of the NCRF Natural Disaster Relief Fund. Donations from 62 members helped start this fund.

Disaster lessons learned from Katrina were tested in New Orleans on August 29, 2021, with the onslaught of harsh winds and floodwaters that left nearly one million people in that region without power.

Said our first Natural Disaster Relief Fund NCRA member awardee, who lives in the hard-hit New Orleans region: “I want to thank you so much for the financial gift from the Trustees who developed this fund for Ida relief. This is such a help to me and my family. Thank you so much!”

Members experiencing hardship from an official natural disaster may apply for NCRF relief using an application found here.

Members may donate to this fund by texting the keyword reliefhelp to 41444, or by using this link.

This fund will remain permanently active to assist NCRA members in need after a natural disaster. Find more information here.
