Student scholarship pays tribute to Gina Battaglia

Gina Battaglia

One of the biggest fears people have after the death of a loved one is that the person will be forgotten.

To support Stephanie Zeder Battaglia, RMR, CRR, a freelance court reporter from Hinsdale, Ill., and her family following the loss of her beloved daughter Gina Battaglia last year, NCRF leaders and supporters have created a memorial NCRF Angel for Gina. In addition, they have launched the new Gina Battaglia Memorial Student Intern Scholarship.

This grant means so much to the Battaglia family, and Stephanie, who is already an NCRF Angel, expresses her thanks:

“Colleagues, aspiring students, friends:

As many of you know, my daughter Gina was taken tragically from my family in October 2022. While the pain of the loss of my beloved daughter can never be fixed, the outpouring of support and love that came from my court reporting family was truly humbling and comforting.

“Not only did Gina love dogs, but she also loved being a hard-working mom, business owner, member of the community. She was always the first to give a helping hand to anyone in need.

“To have a scholarship in her name will continue her quest to see people achieve their dreams. When I became a part of the NCRF Angel Fund, I thought we were the angels helping others. It wasn’t until now that I realized who the true angels are.

“This scholarship will continue to let my daughter’s wings fly. I’m so beyond touched by the outpouring and generosity of those who donated. Keep reaching for your goals. Make your time on this earth count.

Thank you.”

Applications for the 2023 NCRF Gina Battaglia Memorial Student Scholarship will open March 1 and close March 31. This $1,000 scholarship is intended to help another rising student who might need additional financial assistance in addition to the annual NCRF Student Intern Scholarship.
