NCRA member supported through NCRF Disaster Relief Fund

The Trustees of the National Court Reporters Foundation established the Natural Disaster Relief Fund in October 2021 as a way to help support NCRA members during times of crisis. One member who was impacted by Hurricane Ida recently benefited from the Fund.

Donations raised for the NCRF Natural Disaster Relief Fund help provide hardship relief to NCRA members in need who have found their lives challenged by natural disasters. Relief is in the form of financial assistance, and all donations made to the fund will be a tax write-off.

“I would like to thank each donor for every dollar that was donated,” said the anonymous member. “It is very much appreciated and helpful. I am so grateful to the NCRF Trustees for granting me this award. I have been a proud member of NCRA for over 20 years, and I absolutely love my career as a court reporter. Being self-employed comes with rewards as well as challenges. One challenge was being displaced because of a natural disaster, and I was unable to work for a period of time. This is where each donor helped me get back to the rewarding side of my court reporting journey. A HUGE thank-you to you all.”

NCRA members impacted by extreme weather events or catastrophic disasters throughout the United States are reminded that financial aid is available through the NCRF Natural Disaster Relief Fund. Members experiencing hardship from an official natural disaster may apply for relief using this application. Members must apply within two years of the natural disaster.

To donate to the NCRF Natural Disaster Relief Fund, text the keyword ReliefHelp to 41444 or use this NCRF campaign link. Donations raised through the NCRF Natural Disaster Relief Fund exclusively help provide hardship relief to NCRA members in need who have been affected by natural disasters. This will likely be in the form of financial assistance, depending on each applicant’s immediate needs. Donations made to this fund are tax-deductible.
