NCRF Career Launcher announces professional development partnerships

NCRF announces that its Career Launcher program has added a valuable new benefit to those who complete the 10-module program. This new program provides exclusive discounts from a number of vendors on software, state-of-the-art steno machines, and expert support services. These partnerships will provide new reporters with a head start on making the initial investment of acquiring the tools they will need to succeed and thrive in their careers from day one. Participating vendors include Advantage Software, ProCAT, StenoCAT, and Stenograph.

The Career Launcher program was introduced in 2021 and developed with the support of the NCRF Corrinne Clark Professionalism Institute. The program is designed to serve as a bridge for students and new professionals between graduation and their first job, exposing new reporters to real-life situations and equipping them with the knowledge needed to handle them.

Words can’t even begin to express the gratitude I feel for the incredible generosity and unwavering support of our court reporting vendors,” said NCRA Past President Debbie Dibble, FAPR, RDR, CRR, CRC, a freelance court reporter and broadcast captioner from Salt Lake City, Utah, who led a team of members in the development of the program.

“Their response to the Career Launcher program has truly exceeded all expectations. The value they’re providing to new professionals — offering substantial discounts to help them make their initial investment in the tools of their trade — is nothing short of amazing. I’m completely speechless and deeply thankful for their commitment to fostering the next generation of professionals,” she added.
