NCRF Linda Breech Memorial Advocacy Scholarship announced

The National Court Reporters Association Government Relations Department, in collaboration with the National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF), announces the creation of the NCRF Linda Breech Memorial Advocacy Scholarship. The scholarship provides full registration for one eligible student to attend NCRA’s annual Leadership & Legislative Boot Camp, a transformative event that builds advocacy skills and includes a day on Capitol Hill meeting lawmakers in Washington, D.C. Travel expenses and accommodations are to be paid by the student awardee.

“This scholarship aims to celebrate Linda’s legacy by recruiting the next generation of effective advocates for court reporting, captioning, and legal videography,” State Government Relations Manager Colin Brehm said.

The scholarship is in memory of Linda Breech, RPR (Ret.), a dedicated court reporter who served as an official reporter for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Los Angeles, Calif., for nearly two decades and later freelanced in the metro Denver, Colo., area. A passionate advocate for court reporting, Linda’s commitment inspires countless colleagues and students.

“Effective advocacy is a skill every NCRA member can develop,” said NCRA President Cindy Isaacsen, RPR. “This scholarship recognizes Linda’s dedication to our profession and her purpose-driven career.”

“As a public servant, business owner, and NCRA member for nearly four decades, Linda makes a fitting namesake for this scholarship,” added NCRA Executive Director Dave Wenhold, CAE, PLC.

Donations for this scholarship can be made online or by texting the keyword light4linda to 41444. Donations are tax-deductible.

Application Requirements:

  • A copy of the student’s most recent transcript from an NCRA-approved school
