Each month, Unlocking Your Benefits highlights practical ways you can make the most of your NCRA membership. This month, we’re focusing on tools that help you market yourself, grow your business, and raise the visibility of the court reporting, captioning, and legal videography professions.
Your membership supports more than education and certifications. It also includes built-in marketing and networking resources designed to help you showcase your professionalism and credibility.
Here’s how to put those benefits to work.
Show your professional affiliation
Displaying your NCRA membership is one of the simplest ways to signal trust and expertise to clients and colleagues.
Members can use the official NCRA member logo on:
- Business cards
- Websites and online profiles
- Email signatures
- Proposals and marketing materials
Featuring the logo communicates that you belong to a nationally recognized association committed to high standards, continuing education, and ethical practice. Be sure to review the NCRA Logo and Certification Use Policy before using it.
Get found with NCRA PROLink
When clients search for qualified professionals, many turn to NCRA PROLink – the largest directory of court reporters, captioners, scopists, legal videographers, and related firms.
Every member receives a free basic listing. Keep yours current by including:
- Certifications and credentials
- Services and specialties
- Service areas
- Up-to-date contact information
Members who want additional exposure can upgrade their listings or add locations through the member portal or by contacting prolink@ncra.org.
Use the resources available to you
Your membership also includes tools that help you promote both yourself and the profession. Consider:
- Sending a press release about a new certification or milestone
- Sharing materials that explain and promote the profession
- Browsing or posting opportunities on the NCRA Job Board
Small efforts like these can increase your visibility and credibility.
Build your network
Promotion isn’t only about marketing materials – it’s also about relationships. Strengthen your connections by:
- Attending the NCRA Conference & Expo
- Engaging with colleagues across social media
- Joining a committee
- Becoming a mentor or connecting with one
These interactions often lead to referrals, partnerships, and new opportunities.
