Support your mental health this May with NCRF

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) is continuing its commitment to supporting the well-being of court reporters, captioners, and legal videographers with two important webinars designed specifically for the profession.

The work NCRA members do every day requires focus, precision, and often emotional resilience. Whether capturing difficult testimony, listening to deeply personal stories, or working in high-pressure environments, professionals in this field regularly encounter situations that can take a toll over time. Recognizing that reality is the first step toward building healthier coping strategies.

To help members navigate these challenges, NCRF is offering two timely and impactful sessions in May. These webinars are free for NCRA members and will be available on demand afterwards in the NCRA Learning Center

  • May 13: Vicarious Trauma: Caring for the Impact (0.0 CEU)
This session will explore how absorbing others’ traumatic experiences can affect mental health and provide practical tools to manage that impact. Attendees will gain a better understanding of vicarious trauma and learn strategies to protect their emotional well-being while continuing to perform their roles effectively.  Register now.
  • May 20: Strengthen Your Mental Fitness Muscles (0.10 CEU)
Focused on building resilience, this webinar will introduce techniques to reframe negative self-talk, strengthen self-esteem, and develop healthier mental habits. Participants will walk away with actionable methods to improve their mindset both on and off the job. Register now.

These webinars are part of NCRF’s broader effort to create a culture where mental health is openly discussed and actively supported.

In addition to these May sessions, NCRF will continue hosting its popular Peer-to-Peer Support ZoomUps throughout the year, offering safe spaces for connection, conversation, and shared understanding among colleagues who truly “get it.”

Register for our next Peer-to-Peer ZoomUp taking place June 10 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Eastern.

Taking time to focus on mental health isn’t a luxury — it’s essential. NCRF is proud to provide resources that empower members to stay strong, balanced, and supported in both their professional and personal lives.
