Secretary of State Marco Rubio paused during a news conference at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations meeting in Manila to praise a reporter using a stenotype machine. Spotting the machine used for realtime transcription, Rubio interrupted the press gaggle saying, “I love the real court reporter thing. It’s cool. Why don’t the rest of you guys have this? This guy’s the smartest guy here.”
