The fall season kicked off with NCRA’s eighth Virtual Open House earlier this month to help recent completers of the NCRA A to Z® Intro to Steno Machine Shorthand program meet with various court reporting programs to continue their learning. The interactive format encouraged meaningful conversations, allowing students to connect, ask questions, and gain a clearer picture of what their future careers could look like.
The Virtual Open House is delivered through a breakout room format where participants visit programs individually. This format, said participant, Jennifer Baxter, provided just the right length of time to learn about each program.
The smaller, personalized experience helped give individual attention to attendees. Fletcher Wallace, another participant, appreciated the format“I liked hearing more about each individual program’s structure. I also liked learning more about financial aid options,” he said.”That really helped narrow down my choice of school.”
The event also exposed students to programs they may not have otherwise known about, said Logan Yardley, who commented that it allowed everyone to talk to a variety of different colleges,andgave [him] the exposure to colleges that [he] hadn’t previously heard of.
The Fall Virtual Open House demonstrates NCRA’s commitment to education and support for prospective students.
