Two months remain in 2026, which leaves plenty of time to keep earning NCRA Engage Passport stamps. This November, we’re highlighting three areas: getting involved, content and leadership, and professional growth.
As always, remember the three required activities every participant must complete: Joining or renewing your membership, updating your profile, and engaging with designated social media posts.
Two ways to get involved
This month we focus on two ways for you to get involved and stay connected. The upcoming Veterans Day holiday provides a great opportunity to highlight one of NCRA’s most special collaborations: the Veterans History Project (VHP). Since 2003 NCRA members who volunteer their services have worked with the National Court Reporters Foundation and the Library of Congress to record and transcribe the moving stories of many U.S. veterans and Gold Star Families, building a legacy of the diverse group of men and women who have served our nation. Participating in the VHP is a powerful way to give back, support our veterans, and earn yourself an Engage passport stamp. Go to the Veterans History Project webpage to learn how to participate.
If you want to get involved, it’s important you stay connected with NCRA. The NCRA Text Network is one of the best ways to do that. And when you opt in to the network, you’ll receive timely alerts straight to your device. From important advocacy developments to registration reminders and breaking news, this opt-in service ensures you never miss a key update. It’s a fast, convenient way to stay connected wherever you are and an easy way to earn an Engage Passport stamp.
Content and leadership opportunities at the 2027 NCRA Conference & Expo
If you have ever thought about sharing your skills and expertise with colleagues, consider submitting a proposal for the NCRA Conference & Expo, our premier membership event. Each year, practitioners from across the country gather to network, learn, and share ideas that strengthen the profession – and enjoy the many benefits of being a presenter. As a presenter, you will:
- Receive a complimentary seminars-only registration.
- Earn CEUs by attending educational sessions.
- Earn PDCs for presenting your session.
- Present an approved session as a webinar after the Conference for members who could not attend in person.
- Purchase a discounted speaker registration that includes networking activities.
The call for presentations is now open, and members may submit proposals through Dec. 31, 2026. Review potential topics and submit your proposal.
Take a skills test exam within the first 10 days
If you have registered for an Online Skills Test, take your exam within the first 10 days of the testing period instead of waiting until the last few days. According to the NCRA testing department, candidates who test within the first 10 days have higher success rates. We have also rolled out new upgrades to our online testing platform. Candidates are now offered an easy-to-follow path for each test they take. A new dual-registration opportunity also lets candidates take two back-to-back tests of the same exam type (e.g., two RPR tests) in one testing session during each testing block. Take the stress out of testing and take the exam early. You’ll be rewarded with peace of mind and an NCRA Engage Passport stamp!
Other ways to win
Don’t forget the other rewards available through NCRA Engage: Skills Testing Rewards and Webinar Rewards. Right now, folks who register for any combination of WKT or SKT testing legs (for a total of five) are eligible to earn one free skills test. You can also earn rewards when you sign up for any of the webinars in the Learning Center. When you purchase seven webinars, you are eligible to earn an eighth one free. Everyone is encouraged to participate in all three opportunities simultaneously. There is no limit to participation.
