Deals, demos, and digital connections: A recap of NCRA’s A to Z Vendor Open House

Recent participants of the NCRA A to Z® Intro to Steno Machine Shorthand program were invited to attend our virtual Vendor Open House last month. It was a fun and informative event where participants connected with a variety of vendors from the comfort of their own homes. Attendees hopped into virtual breakout rooms to chat with company reps from Advantage Software, ProCAT, and Stenograph to learn about machines, software, and promotions that can help them as they continue on to further their steno education.

Feedback from the event was positive. “I liked hearing from the different brands! It was very informative and helpful,” remarked attendee Nicole Scoble.

A similar sentiment was echoed by Lisa Balderstone, Sr. Sales Support Analyst with Stenograph, who left feeling “truly inspired by the enthusiasm and curiosity” of the participants. “Their excitement for building their careers and becoming court reporters gives me great optimism for the future of our field.”

The online format made it easy for participants to move from one breakout session to another, ask questions in real time, and acquire helpful knowledge. Ashli Van Dyke, Director of Training, Advantage Software, found that “the open house was a wonderful opportunity to share how technology can empower the next generation of reporters. Seeing students so excited about their future reminds us why innovation and education must go hand in hand, and just how strong and passionate this community truly is.”

Attendee Ashleigh Gauch enjoyed her experience of “getting to meet three different vendors and talk with them a bit about their offerings” through this format.

Bob Bakva, founder and President of ProCAT, was excited to be a part of the open house. “The future of court reporting is bright,” he said, “and we’re honored to help students embark on this meaningful career with the technology and support that will propel them toward long-term success.”

Overall, the virtual Vendor Open House was a great success, bringing people together, sparking conversations, and creating excitement around new products and special offers.
