NCRA’s 2026 Court Reporting & Captioning Week marks the 14th year the Association has sponsored this week-long celebration of the stenographic court reporting and captioning professions. From Feb. 7-14, the week will be highlighted with the theme: Peace, Love & Steno. Below is a list of tips to help everyone get a head start on their plans to celebrate.
Kickstart tips
Spread this year’s theme of Peace, Love & Steno by asking your judge or the attorneys you work with why they love their stenographic court reporters and share their answers with pr@ncra.org.
Captioners, ask those you provide captioning and CART services to what they love the most about what you do for them and share what you learn with pr@ncra.org.
It’s never too early to reach out to your local media outlets. Visit NCRA’s official Court Reporting & Captioning Week resources page and download the following fillable templates:
- States media advisory
- Press release template for states and vendors
- Press release template for schools
Once completed, distribute them to your local media outlets to encourage them to showcase the week or send completed templates to pr@ncra.org and NCRA’s Communications Team will be happy to distribute them for you.
Also available is a fillable letter for instructors to share with students about how they can celebrate the week.
Get the word out on social media by downloading The Best in Social Media tip sheet.
Start planning now to participate in local career fairs or consider hosting a Veterans History Project event.
Finally, be sure to keep an eye out for more updates about the week in the JCR Weekly as the dates draw closer. No matter how you celebrate 2026 Court Reporting & Captioning Week, be sure to share your stories and photos with NCRA’s Communications Team at pr@ncra.org or post on social media using #CRCW2026.
“There’s nothing more fun than promoting our profession by introducing what we do to potential students and the public, and Court Reporting & Captioning Week affords us the opportunity to shine as an organization nationally as we do this,” NCRA President Cindy Isaacsen, RPR, said.
“NCRA offers so many resources to help each of us either as individuals, schools, firms, and vendors, to share our message with others. If we can all do just one thing during the week to showcase the stenographic court reporting and captioning professions, just think of the potential impact we could have in spreading the word about the advantages and opportunities of this career,” she added.
