Lead the way: Serve as an NCRF Trustee. Applications now open

The National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) is now accepting applications for its 2026–2027 Board of Trustees. This is an opportunity for strategic, collaborative leaders who are passionate about giving back to help shape the future of court reporting and captioning. One of the most meaningful, unquantifiable benefits of serving is the camaraderie — working alongside fellow trustees who share a servant’s heart and a deep commitment to making a difference.

NCRF is proud of its long-standing commitment to supporting the court reporting and captioning communities — from students entering the field to seasoned professionals and retirees. The Board of Trustees plays a vital role in overseeing the Foundation’s programs, initiatives, and financial stewardship. Recent highlights include:

  • Ask Me Anything ZoomUps: A free, interactive series connecting members with experts
  • Scholarships and Grants: Providing critical financial support for students and working professionals
  • Oral Histories Program: Preserving history through partnerships with the Veterans History Project at the Library of Congress as well as attorney oral histories
  • The Jim Bouley Family Lifetime Award for Altruism: Recognizing extraordinary service from members with 25 or more years in the profession
  • Mental Health Awareness Webinars: Offering timely resources to support member well-being
  • Natural Disaster Relief Fund: Assisting members affected by natural disasters
  • Career Launcher: Advancing careers through scholarships and online learning tools
  • Student Conference Registration Drawings: Creating access and opportunity for the next generation

In addition to these established programs, new initiatives are underway with an updated Strategic Plan, ensuring NCRF remains a cornerstone of support, education, and innovation within the profession.

Serving as an NCRF Trustee offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with colleagues, give back in a lasting way, and help shape the direction of court reporting, captioning, and legal videography  for years to come. Apply today or nominate a colleague who is ready to lead and serve.

The nomination deadline is April 3, 2026.
