Jim Bouley Family Lifetime Award for Altruism nominations due May 1

Nominations for The Jim Bouley Family Lifetime Family Award for Altruism close May 1. This is your opportunity to honor a court reporter or captioner who you think gives selflessly to the community. This is the National Court Reporters Foundation’s (NCRF) highest honor. Reestablished in 2021 by the Bouley family, it is awarded each year to a member who emulates the legacy of Jim Bouley, a man who embodied the definition of a professional, an educator, and a philanthropist.

Members whose careers have been identified by self-sacrifice are the ideal candidates for NCRF consideration. If you know of a member who is also a working court reporter or captioner with at least 25 years of experience, and who has a documented history of altruism, this is your opportunity to shine a light on their efforts.

Read about last year’s recipient, Debbie Kriegshauser, FAPR, RMR, CRR, CRC, CLVS.

How to nominate your colleague:

  • Find detailed criteria and the official nomination form on the Altruism Award page.
  • Submit the nomination form by May 1.
  • Please note that the NCRF requires a new and complete application for each nomination cycle; submissions from previous years do not qualify for the 2026 award.

Take a moment today to recognize the person who always puts their profession and the community first.
