NCRF vacation property auction at 2014 NCRA Convention: Call for donations

Geanell Adams, Tammey Pastor, and Janice Foster have donated time at their vacation properties to support NCRF.  Geanell donated her cabin in Percy Quinn State Park in McComb, Miss.; Tammey donated her cottage in Provincetown, Mass.; and Janice donated her cabin in Shaver Lake, Calif. Three major hotel chains have also made donations: Marriott, two nights at the Desert Springs Resort in Palm Desert, Calif.; Omni Hotels, two nights at any resort and spa; and Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes Orlando, a spa package. Join them and donate time at your vacation home.  It’s for a great cause!

Historically, NCRF has held a vacation property auction at NCRA’s annual Firm Owners Conference, where it has been a wonderful fundraiser for the Foundation. This year, however, NCRF decided to offer it at NCRA’s Convention, opening up the opportunity for a great getaway to more members. Offerings from the past have included locations in North, Central, and South America, including U. S. cities such as Chicago, New York, Las Vegas, Sedona, and Park City, as well as international locations in Mexico and the Azores.  Winning bidders have expressed tremendous satisfaction with the quality and value of their getaways.

NCRF needs your property!

The property auction has become an important and significant fundraising event for NCRF, but we can only do it if you, NCRA’s members, offer your second home, vacation property, or timeshare for a getaway. Go to “Property Auction Donations” on NCRF’s website to see who has donated in the past and the types of vacations offered. Your name can be on that list for 2014! You can help by donating a weekend, a week, or even more time if your property is a considerable distance away.

What you get in return

  • NCRF will widely promote your generosity to NCRA’s membership:
    • at the 2014 Annual Convention in San Francisco,
    • on NCRF’s website,
    • in the JCR Weekly e-newsletter,
    • on TheJCR.com, and
    • on NCRA’s social media.
  • You’ll demonstrate to the membership that you support your profession, and
  • You’ll help NCRF raise funds for critical programs that support NCRA’s members.

Your donation may be a tax deduction

Your donation may be tax deductible! Check with your tax consultant, and let them know NCRF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

How do I donate?

Contact B. J. Shorak, NCRF’s deputy executive director, by email at bjshorak@ncra.org or by phone at 800-272-6272, ext. 126. She’ll answer any questions and work with you to collect specific information, such as a property description, availability, restrictions, etc. Click here for a sample of a past property donation.

How does the auction work?

Bidding takes place throughout the Convention, from July 31 through Aug. 2, and will close during the President’s “Red Carpet” Party on Saturday, when the winners will be announced. If the winner is in attendance, NCRF will collect payment and provide complete details of their fabulous vacation. Winners do not have to be present to win; NCRF will follow up with winners not in attendance. NCRF will provide donors with the name of the person who won his or her property and their contact information.

Thank you!

NCRF relies entirely on the generous support of NCRA’s members through fundraising drives, major contributions, and special events such as this. Do you have a special getaway? Donate it to NCRF!
