Julie Brandau project-sponsored search dog team responds to call for missing boy

The National Search Dog Foundation team of handler Jeff Leon and Justice, sponsored in part by the Julie Brandau Community Service Memorial Project, recently responded to a request for assistance regarding a missing four-year-old boy. The team, deployed from the Tulsa, Okla., Fire Department, successfully found the child safe and unharmed. He was later reunited with his family.

Thanks to the cooperation between the police and Tulsa Fire, the team was able to arrive at the scene within 10 minutes of the call and confirm that the little boy was not lost outside, exposed to the elements.

“Justice did a great job of searching the whole neighborhood and making sure the little boy was not left out in the cold overnight. Together with the police, we were able to arrive on-scene, search the area, and return him to his family in a very short amount of time, and that’s what it’s all about,” Leon said.
