On May 19, The Fayetteville [N.C.] Observer reported that Col. Jeffery Nance, the military judge assigned to the Bowe Bergdahl court martial case, has ruled that media organizations will be able to hire a stenographer during the proceedings. The purpose of the stenographer is to ensure accuracy as reporters work on deadline since the court does not publish daily transcripts for distribution, Nance said.
