The NCRA Board of Directors has announced the news that, after much thought and planning, Executive Director and CEO Mike Nelson has stepped down from his position. NCRA appreciates the leadership Mike has given to NCRA and wishes him the very best.
NCRA’s Board of Directors worked closely on a transition plan to ensure that strong leadership remains in place during this time of change. To that end, the Board named Dave Wenhold, CAE, PLC, who is currently contracted as NCRA’s legislative counsel, as Interim Executive Director and CEO. As many of you know, Dave worked at NCRA for many years, including as the Association’s Director of Government Relations. The Board is confident that Dave’s experience and vast industry knowledge will continue to lead NCRA forward in its strategic plan during this time of transition.
Dave will draw on his association experience as he works with senior staff to retain continuity and stability in regards to the programs and services NCRA provides its members. Dave’s input and experience will also serve to assist the Board in determining the next steps in identifying a new Executive Director and CEO.
“I am honored to help NCRA through this transitional phase as its Interim Executive Director and CEO,” said Dave. “NCRA has always held a special place in my heart through my many years working for the Association and then as its legislative consultant, and I look forward to helping NCRA move forward through the next few months.”
NCRA is fortunate to have a highly talented and knowledgeable staff supporting the backbone of our successes. The Board is confident that, together, this group of professionals guided by Dave will continue to move the Association forward on a positive, constructive path.
