JCR | Where do you work?
SB | I work for the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas.
JCR | How long have you been a court reporter?
SB | I’ve been an official court reporter for 21 years.
JCR | How did you decide to become a court reporter?
SB | I was inspired by my father to become a court reporter. When I was younger, I can recall him practicing on his machine, vigorously trying to master his skill. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to finish school, and I decided in eighth grade that I was going to carry the torch and pursue this career. It’s actually in my school yearbook.
JCR | What made you decide to become an NCRA member?
SB | I became an NCRA member to further my career goals and to stay current in my profession.
JCR | What are you looking forward to as an NCRA member?
SB | I’m looking forward to taking advantage of all that NCRA has to offer its members and to continue my career as a professional and a certified court reporter.
