New videos available to help ‘Spread love and steno everywhere you go’

Just added to the NCRA 2022 Court Reporting & Captioning Week resources page and ready for downloading to share are new videos by NCRA members who reveal some of the benefits that drew them to the stenographic court reporting and captioning professions. NCRA’s 2022 Court Reporting & Captioning Week is being celebrated Feb. 5-12 and carries the theme ‘Spread love and steno everywhere you go.’ Anyone celebrating the week is encouraged to share these videos with others to help showcase why a career in stenographic court reporting or captioning is a viable choice for anyone seeking a fast-paced, exciting career.

The new videos feature NCRA members from Salt Lake City, Utah — Emily Gibbs, RPR, a freelance court reporter and agency owner, and Rose-Marie Robinson, RPR, a freelance court reporter — as well as Mike Hensley, RDR, a freelance court reporter from Dublin, Calif., and Amanda Lundberg, RPR, CRC, a captioner from Houston, Pa. The videos were taken by NCRA member Andrea Kreutz, CLVS, a freelance videographer and agency owner from Des Moines, Iowa.

The 2022 celebration marks the 10th year the week-long event has been held. State associations, individual members, schools, students, vendors, and anyone else who may be affiliated with the legal world are encouraged to participate.

To help mark the week, NCRA’s 2022 Court Reporting & Captioning resources page is available and offers a large selection of materials for court reporters, captioners, and others to use during the week, including customizable press release templates, media advisories, social media tips and messages, information about proclamations, and more. These latest resources reflect this year’s theme of ‘Spread love and steno everywhere you go’ and are available at NCRA.org/Awareness. Many of the resources can also be adapted and used year-round to help promote the profession. Be sure to check back to the page frequently as new resources are continually being added.

Secure an official proclamation and be entered into a drawing to win one free registration to NCRA’s 2022 Conference & Expo being held July 21-24 in Orlando, Fla. This marks the fourth year NCRA has issued a challenge to members and states to secure official proclamations from governors and state legislators recognizing the week. States must submit a copy of their official state proclamation recognizing the week to pr@ncra.org to be entered into the drawing. Information about how to secure an official proclamation and a downloadable sample proclamation is available at NCRA.org/Awareness.

No matter how you celebrate 2022 Court Reporting & Captioning Week, be sure to share your stories and photos with NCRA’s Communications Team at pr@ncra.org. Also, remember to use the hashtag #CRCW2022 when you post on social media.
