Four new live webinars coming in April

NCRA’s Professional Development department continues its dynamic year of live webinars with four new topics in April including two sessions dedicated to Financial Literacy Month. On tap: Captioning setups, Social Security, tax-free retirement, and Microsoft Outlook. Registration is now open.

April 5 @ 8 p.m. Eastern | Captioning Setups at Home and On-site | Presenter: Amanda Lundberg, RPR, CRC (0.1 CEU)

Captioning setups can be a little scary, but we’re here to help! Broadcast captioners Ariana Jordan and Amanda Lundberg, RPR, CRC, will go over what you need to be a successful captioner — whether at home or on-site. They will cover hardware, software, and everything in between. “I want captioning to be accessible to more writers,” says Lundberg. “Let us help you demystify captioning. It’s a great career!”

April 12 @ 1 p.m. Eastern | Social Security 101: What Everyone Needs to Know | Presenter: David Melton, SSA Public Affairs Specialist (free webinar for members)

“Social Security reaches almost every family and at some point touches the lives of nearly all Americans,” says presenter David Melton, Public Affairs Specialist with the Social Security Administration. “We want you to understand what Social Security can mean to you and your family’s financial future. Whether you are about to retire, become a full-time grandparent, or start a new chapter in life, Social Security provides financial benefits, information, and tools to help secure today and tomorrow for you and your family. I look forward to joining you as we discuss our programs and help you prepare for your retirement.”

April 19 @ 12 p.m. Eastern | Leveraging Life Insurance as a Tax-Free Retirement Pension | Presenter: John Lacey Smith (0.1 CEU)

John Lacey Smith, an agent with TransAmerica and a court reporter’s spouse, explains that you don’t have to die to use your life insurance.  “We all know that life insurance can give us the peace of mind that our loved ones will be taken care of in our absence,” says Smith. “I’ll share how you can take things to the next level, using permanent life insurance to not only create a tax-free retirement fund, but to protect from other things that life can throw at us as well.”

April 26 @ 7 p.m. Eastern| How to Effectively Manage Emails in Office 365 | Presenter: Kenya Herring (0.125 CEU)

Kenya Herring, an IT specialist in Washington, D.C., is back to present a webinar on Microsoft Outlook. Learn how to effectively manage and organize your emails in Outlook to improve your productivity in the workplace. “This webinar will explore key features in Outlook that will help remove clutter from your inbox and efficiently manage incoming and outgoing emails daily,” says Herring. This is the 7th in a series of webinars by Herring covering topics like the Cloud, Windows, Word, and Excel. See the whole series.

Webinars will be recorded and do not have to be viewed live. The Learning Center gives 30 days from the live event to complete all required elements unless otherwise noted.
