To help educate members before they vote on a proposed Constitution & Bylaws amendment that calls for the inclusion of voice writers into the organization, NCRA is offering “United by Skill: Voice and Machine Stenography Together” on June 25 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern. The live webinar being offered through the NCRA Learning Center is free for members and $35 for nonmembers. All attendees will earn 0.1 CEU.
This informative session will discuss educational programs, training requirements, and professional certifications to become a certified voice writer. Voice writers and stenographers each bring valuable strengths to the profession, and this session will also spotlight how the two groups successfully collaborate to uphold the integrity of the record and meet the growing demand for accurate realtime reporting.
This webinar will provide attendees with a fundamental understanding and appreciation for:
- The core skills and qualities that define a successful voice writer.
- The comprehensive education and training pathway required to become a certified voice writer.
- The parallel roles of voice writers and stenographers in the reporting field.
- How collaboration and support between both reporting methods strengthens and supports the industry as a whole.

NCRA members will be asked to vote on the amendment on voice writing following the Annual Business Meeting on July 24, 2025, being held during the NCRA Conference & Expo in Minneapolis, Minn.
Voting Members must ensure that NCRA has a current email address in the Association’s database by July 14. Voting will open within two hours following the close of the Annual Business Meeting and will remain open for 24 hours. Results will be posted shortly thereafter.
