New habits for a new year: Live webinar teaches skillbuilding, motivation

Feb 11 | Steno Habits: The Science of Building Skills that Stick | Presenters: Lee Leigh (“Lili”), RPR, CRI; Rich Germosen, FAPR, RDR, CRR; Deneé Vadell, RPR; Chris DeGrazio; and Alecia Madison (0.0 CEU)

In celebration of 2026 Court Reporting & Captioning Week, the NCRA Student/Teacher and the Membership, Marketing & Outreach committees present “Steno Habits: The Science of Building Skills that Stick.” This webinar, free for members, dives into the science of habit formation and how it applies directly to court reporting students. “Habits are automatic behaviors that kick in when certain cues appear in our environment,” says presenter Lee Leigh, RPR, CRI, an official from Madison, Wis.  “Once a habit is established, it takes far less mental effort to carry out, which frees up your brain for more demanding tasks.”

“It’s easy, if not effortless, to develop bad habits or habits that don’t serve us and/or our goals,” says presenter Chris DeGrazio, a freelancer from Fort Pierce, Fla., and chair of the Membership, Marketing & Outreach Committee. “Come learn alongside us as we explore how to develop and adhere to better habits that can turn our goals into accomplishments.

“Success goes beyond just developing good habits,” says Alecia Madison, a freelancer from Atlanta, Ga. “It all comes down to how bad you want it. If you want to succeed as badly as you want to breathe, you will be successful. Don’t let nothing stop you. Come join us and learn how to improve every single day.”

Registration open now in the NCRA Learning Center.
