Build your leadership skills through FREE Leadership Development Series

Beginning in May, NCRA will be hosting a free, five-part series on leadership development called Unlocking Your Personal Leadership Potential. The sessions will be offered via Zoom and will be led by Jesse Walker of Intentional Leader Coaching. Walker, who served as keynote speaker at NCRA’s 2026 Leadership & Legislative Boot Camp in March, is a leadership coach and consultant who helps people unlock their potential. He believes that all people deserve to thrive in life and that everyone wins when leaders grow.

The objective of the series is to help NCRA members move from leadership uncertainty to empowerment by laying the framework of what is a leader, challenge participants in their individual growth, and encourage members toward deeper engagement with association work.

In his coaching, Walker emphasizes that leadership is where awareness meets action, encouraging leaders to identify and address blind spots, team building, executive coaching, and business consulting, often helping individuals find their voice and bring out the best in their teams, and he challenges leaders to grow in awareness and take intentional action.

“Anyone who wants to understand themselves better and understand leadership at a deeper level will benefit from these sessions,” Walker said. “It is not uncommon for us to feel that we are highly capable of doing the work but then second-guess our own inner voices or feel the need to wait for permission to lead,” he added.

The first session, Start Where You Are: Creating a vision for your personal leadership, will take place May 5 from 7:30–9 p.m. Eastern. Topics covered will include why this training series is beneficial, defining leadership, a big picture look at what it takes to become a leader worth following, and more.

“I encourage everyone to attend these sessions and engage in learning from Jesse’s knowledge and insights into what it takes to be an effective leader. What he teaches and what you will learn about yourself will be life lessons for both your personal and professional growth,” said NCRA Executive Director Dave Wenhold, CAE, PLC.

The cost to attend the sessions is free to NCRA members. Each session will also feature break-out rooms for discussion and team-building activities.
