Register for the Oct. 8 Peer-to-Peer Support ZoomUp

The work of a court reporter can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also come with emotional challenges that are difficult to navigate alone. The August 2026 NCRF Peer-to-Peer support group provided a powerful example of that need, as reporters came together to process the tragic domestic-violence murder of fellow reporter Daisy Cortez.

The Peer-to-Peer Support ZoomUps are open and free to all NCRA members. Participants are encouraged to register in advance and include their Zoom name when registering.

Next session: Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026
Time: 7:30–9 p.m. Eastern
Register: by Wednesday, Oct. 7, at noon Eastern

In moments like these, having a safe space to connect with colleagues who understand the profession can make a meaningful difference. NCRF’s Peer-to-Peer Support program offers members an opportunity to share, listen, and connect with others who understand their experiences.

Facilitator Bev Perez, MSW, describes the sessions as a place for members to come together and find support. Whether participants choose to speak or simply listen, the goal is to remind them they are not alone. Perez, a certified peer and grief support facilitator and former police officer with specialized training in traumatic work experiences, helps create a welcoming environment where members can connect through shared experiences.

The program was launched through a partnership between NCRF and NCRA Immediate Past President Cindy Isaacsen, RPR, to provide a safe space for members to discuss the unique challenges of the profession. Sessions are confidential and not recorded. Participants agree to maintain the confidentiality of all discussions shared during each session. The Peer-to-Peer Support series does not provide CEU or PDC credit.

NCRA members are invited to join the next Peer-to-Peer Support ZoomUp on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 7:30–9 p.m. Eastern. Register now.
