There are just days left to take advantage of several scholarship opportunities worth more than $11,000 for court reporting and captioning students. Applications for the NCRF A to Z® Scholarship and the CASE Student Scholarships will be accepted through Sept. 30.
Students who have completed an NCRA A to Z® Intro to Steno Machine Shorthand program may be eligible for one of 15 NCRF A to Z Scholarships, each worth $750. Students enrolled at NCRA-approved education programs are encouraged to apply for one of five CASE Student Scholarships.
CASE Student Scholarships:
The Council on Approved Student Education (CASE) offers five scholarships each year. The top prize of $1,500 is the Sue Shelton White Scholarship.
Four additional scholarships are available in the amounts of $250, $500, $750, and $1,000.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Currently be attending an NCRA-approved court reporting program;
- Maintain an exemplary academic record;
- Have passed one skills test writing 160 wpm or greater at the time of submission; and
- Submit an essay on a topic chosen by CASE.

NCRF A to to Z Scholarship
The NCRF A to Z Scholarship program annually awards up to 15 students a $750 scholarship.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Have completed the NCRA A to Z Intro to Steno Machine Shorthand program;
- Have passed a skills test writing between 60 and 160 wpm; and
- Comply with other eligibility requirements.
