Advocating for our profession is essential to NCRA’s mission. To encourage the next generation to step into this vital role, NCRA’s Government Relations Department and the National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) invite eligible students to apply for the NCRF Linda Breech Memorial Advocacy Scholarship. This award provides full registration for one student to attend the 2026 NCRA Leadership & Legislative Boot Camp.
The scholarship offers an opportunity to learn firsthand about legislative advocacy and leadership within the profession. Boot Camp is an intensive program designed to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills necessary to influence policy and represent the industry. While the scholarship covers the registration fee, which includes participation in all sessions and a day on Capitol Hill, the student awardee will be responsible for all other expenses such as travel and accommodations.
The scholarship is in memory of Linda Breech, RPR (Ret.), who passed away earlier this year. She was a dedicated court reporter who served as an official reporter for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Los Angeles, Calif., for nearly two decades and later freelanced in the metro Denver, Colo., area. Linda was a passionate advocate for court reporting, captioning, and legal videography. Her commitment to service and professional excellence continues to inspire the next generation of advocates.
Application Requirements:
- A copy of the student’s most recent transcript from an NCRA-approved school
- Proof of NCRA membership in good standing
- A valid voter registration confirmation for the student’s current address
- Completed application form
