Beginning January 1, 2026, NCRA is launching major enhancements to its Skills Testing platform and registration options, designed to put candidates firmly in control of their certification journey. These updates focus on a smoother testing experience, added flexibility, and more tools to help candidates test with confidence.
A new pathway-based testing platform will guide candidates step-by-step through the exact components relevant to the exam they are taking. When logging in, candidates will see only the materials and instructions needed for their specific test. The platform includes detailed instructions, a short orientation video, and a quick-reference overview for both transcription and realtime exams — all aimed at reducing anxiety and eliminating confusion about what to expect.
New dual registration option
One of the most exciting improvements is a new dual enrollment registration option. Based directly on candidate feedback, this feature allows individuals to register for two back-to-back exams within the same testing session. This means that motivated candidates can make the most of their testing day and potentially progress toward certification even more quickly.
How does dual registration work?
A candidate registering for dual registration of the RPR Testimony exam, for example, selects their preferred test date within the exam window. On test day, the candidate:
- Logs in and begins their first exam
- Completes the exam
- Uploads their notes and transcript file
- Pastes their final transcript into the platform
- Continues to the second exam of dual registration and repeats the process
Once complete, a button will appear immediately to launch their second exam — no waiting, no reauthentication, and no additional setup. The candidate simply proceeds to listen, write, and submit their second exam the same way as their first exam submission. Official scores for both exams will be provided within 10-15 business days.
With these new enhancements, NCRA reinforces its commitment to delivering a modern, candidate-centered testing experience. By expanding flexibility and putting candidates in the driver’s seat, NCRA is helping more professionals achieve their certifications with confidence, convenience, and control.
January 2026 SKT registration is currently open through Dec. 20. Register now!
