NCRA’s free five-part series on leadership development called Unlocking Your Personal Leadership Potential, kicks off May 5 from 7:30-9 p.m. Eastern. The objective of the series is to help NCRA members make the move from leadership uncertainty to empowerment by laying the framework of what is a leader, challenging participants in their individual growth, and encouraging members toward deeper engagement with association work.
The sessions run through September and are being offered via Zoom. Jesse Walker of Intentional Leader Coaching will lead each session. Walker served as keynote speaker at NCRA’s 2026 Leadership & Legislative Boot Camp in March. He is a leadership coach and consultant who helps people unlock their potential. Walker believes all people deserve to thrive in life and that everyone wins when leaders grow.
The first session, Start Where You Are: Creating a vision for your personal leadership, will cover why this training series is beneficial, defining leadership, a big picture look at what it takes to become a leader worth following, and more.
In his coaching, Walker emphasizes that leadership is where awareness meets action, encouraging leaders to identify and address blind spots, team building, executive coaching, and business consulting, often helping individuals find their voice and bring out the best in their teams. And he challenges leaders to grow awareness and take intentional action.
“Anyone who wants to understand themselves better and understand leadership at a deeper level will benefit from these sessions,” Walker said. “It is not uncommon for us to feel that we are highly capable of doing the work but then second-guess our own inner voices or feel the need to wait for permission to lead.”
The cost to attend the sessions is free to NCRA members. Each session will also feature breakout rooms for discussion and team-building activities. The full schedule for this five-part series is below. Sessions will run from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.
