Congratulations to all those who qualified and competed in this year’s event.

It was the second year exploring new efficiencies, including holding both contests on one day, and using EV360 software as a step in the grading process.

This year, the Speed Contest consisted of three legs: a Literary leg at 220 wpm; Legal Opinion at 230 wpm; and a Testimony (or Q&A) leg at 280 wpm. Contestants had 90 minutes to transcribe each leg.

The Realtime Contest consisted of two legs: Literary at 200 wpm and Two-Voice (also known as Testimony) at 225 wpm. Contestants turned in a file immediately following the end of dictation for grading.

In both contests, contestants must receive 95 percent accuracy to qualify; accuracy also determines the winners.
