Big contingent of students heads to this year’s NCRA Conference & Expo

Student registrations for the 2021 NCRA Conference & Expo being held July 29 – Aug. 1 in Las Vegas, Nev., have soared this year. Already more than 126 students, hailing from 25 different states, are signed up to attend. This is more than double the number of students who attended the 2019 NCRA Convention & Expo in Denver, Colo.

Now is the perfect time to invest in the future of the court reporting and captioning professions by donating to help an NCRA student member with registration. Donations can range from $25, $50, $100, or $150 to the entire student registration of $175. Donations are combined to offset the Conference costs, which allows students to pay the reduced fee. Students get access to all sessions and events except for the Member Recognition Gala, although at past Conventions attendees have donated their tickets to students who wish to attend the Saturday night event. Donations can be made at the time of online Conference registration or on-site at the NCRA registration desk. Donations can also be made by texting 41444 with the keyword welcomestudent or by using this link.

Student sessions being offered this year include Student Speed DatingWho Wants to be a Captionnaire?Speedbuilding Through Cinema, and Practicing for Cleaner and Speedier Writing!

“We need your help! This year we have a significant number of students registered to attend the Conference happening in Las Vegas. Isn’t that wonderful news? Here is where the ask comes in … we do not have enough to cover all of their registrations with the donations we have received thus far,” said NCRA President Christine Phipps, RPR.

“Please join me in helping to make their experience one that lasts into their future by sponsoring a student Conference registration. Not only does a Conference experience help build a student’s confidence and their drive to succeed, but it also inspires them to become a member of the NCRA community and understand the importance of giving back to the profession. You and I know that each of us create a magical experience at Conference for students, one that makes them feel like they found their people. It might be the little something extra that drives them to finish school, join us in the ranks, and pay it forward to our future,” she added.

Book your hotel room now

Make your room reservations today! Due to the popular demand of the 2021 NCRA Conference & Expo, the NCRA room block at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino is filling up quickly, and you do not want to be left without a room at our steeply discounted rate! The NCRA block is already sold out for Friday and Saturday nights, but rooms are still available at the resort (at a slightly higher rate), and the special rate is still available for the rest of the week from Wednesday thru Monday. You will still save money by staying inside the block. But hurry and make a reservation if you have not already done so! This rate expires July 2 (or until the NCRA room block is sold out, whichever comes first).

As always, NCRA places the safety and health of its guests, presenters, and staff as its top priority and remains committed to its 2021 NCRA Conference & Expo.

Watch out for scammers!

NCRA has received reports that some of our registrants are being “phished” to purchase attendee lists. Please note that NCRA never sells any member or attendee information to third-party vendors and does NOT actively engage in this or any other type of phishing attempts.
