Welcome back from exhibitors and sponsors

Get ready to visit dozens of vendors who will be showcasing the latest in new products and services specifically for the court reporting and captioning professions at the 2021 NCRA Conference & Expo happening July 29-Aug. 1 in Las Vegas, Nev., at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Vendors will offer products that include software, equipment, support services, new products, and more. In addition, several groups are sponsoring events, such as breakfasts, coffee breaks, and the Guinness Challenge during the Conference.

With the pandemic shutting down in-person exhibits for the past year and a half, vendors and sponsors are eager to get back on the floor to spotlight what’s new and reconnect with current customers as well as meet potential new ones.

TransPerfect Legal Solutions (TLS), based in New York, N.Y., maintains an elite staff of expert court reporters and case management specialists who are well-versed in handling complex litigation, specific subject matter, and all types of high-end legal proceedings. They have generously sponsored the 2021 Guinness Challenge being held July 29 at the Conference.

“This exciting event is a great opportunity to showcase the true capabilities of certified skilled stenographers and the vitality they bring to the legal community,” said Kimmy Milanese, the company’s senior marketing specialist. “In attendance will be Katie Ochetal, vice president of depositions operations, as well as Ariel Trinh, operations manager, both of whom welcome the chance to meet current reporters, reporters looking to join TLS, and new students entering the industry.”

Litigation Services, based in Reno, Nev., is also attending and will be sponsoring the Opening Reception on July 29, as well as participating as an exhibitor on the Expo floor. “We’re looking forward to a fantastic and informative Conference, spending time together after this year of restrictions and Zoom,” said Linda B. Shaw, the firm’s owner and chief court reporting officer. “Las Vegas took a huge hit to gaming and tourism, and we are in full recovery mode with great restaurants and shopping and gaming. Thank you, NCRA, for choosing Las Vegas, and we will not disappoint.”

This year, Stenograph, based in Downers Grove, Ill., is the proud sponsor of NCRA’s National Speed Contest happening July 28. According to marketing manager Jenny DuPrey, the company is also looking forward to attendees stopping by its booth to try out the Luminex II, the ultimate in writer technology, and learn how they can become a part of Stenograph’s online learning community, Ascend Training.

“Visitors will also be able to see how YesLaw can provide them with smooth transcript production capabilities, as well as meeting APEX, Stenograph’s intelligent ecosystem that connects agencies to reporters through our industry-leading software CATaylst,” DuPrey said.

“Also don’t miss our CATalyst demo that will give you a sneak peek of the upcoming features,” she added.

Also excited to be on this year’s Expo floor is Real Time Legal Video, based in El Cajon, Calif., said the company’s operations manager Alex Acosta, CLVS. “Attendees can come by our booth and learn how we can improve their remote depo experience. Not only that, but as we are going back live, how we can apply some of the principles we have learned through the remote deposition experience to create a seamless hybrid experience that will become the new normal in the coming years,” Acosta said.

Matthew Archibald, court reporting manger at Steno, based in Southern California, said that in his 13 years in the profession he has learned that the most important aspect of court reporting is relationship building.

Among the firm’s many services is its Steno Connect, a remote online litigation platform that Archibald said can solve many of the problems remote reporting sometimes faces and enables the user to download exhibits directly as soon as they are introduced or annotated. Other services visitors to the Steno booth will learn about include the company’s online job marketplace, personalized technology training, and more.

“Steno strives to be an agency that you actually like working with. We know your work is difficult, so we strive to create solutions that make it easier. If you’re interested in learning more about the benefits of working with us, stop by our booth at the NCRA Conference & Expo in Las Vegas,” Archibald said. “We will have tons of swag to check out, including power banks, sunglasses, calendars, tote bags, and more! I hope to see you there.”
