Make your plans to visit the sold-out 2023 Expo Hall at #NCRAHouston

The 2023 NCRA Conference & Expo is just around the corner and this year the Expo Hall is sold out. A wide array of product and service providers will be on hand to share with attendees the latest in what they have to offer. This year’s Conference & Expo is taking place July 27-30 in Houston, Texas, at the Hyatt Regency Houston Downtown. Below is a rundown of some of what you’ll learn more about when you explore this year’s Expo Hall.

Danielle Little, marketing manager for First Legal, said representatives of the firm are excited about connecting with attendees at the 2023 NCRA Conference & Expo. “Here at First Legal, we value and appreciate court reporters’ work. Court reporters are the unsung heroes in the judicial process and in every court case. When you work with First Legal, enjoy the benefits of weekly pay, flexible scheduling options, and monthly raffles,” she added.

Representatives from the Superior Court of California, County of Imperial, will also be in the Expo Hall this year to invite attendees to check out some amazing employment opportunities available in Southern California. “Our team at Superior Court of California, County of Imperial is a small court served by 10 judges, one commissioner, and one referee,” said Laura E. Flores, director of the court’s human resources department. “We are currently offering incredible hiring incentives for any certified court reporter to include reimbursements for California certification testing and relocation,” she noted.

According to Sara Giammanco, Director of Reporter Engagement for U.S. Legal Support, the firm provides court reporting services nationwide, in addition to complementary litigation support services, including record retrieval, interpreting, translations, and trial services to law firms, corporations, and insurance carriers. “U.S. Legal Support is committed to recruiting, educating, and improving the overall court reporter experience, all while continuing to promote and support the nationwide community of professional stenographers. Partnering with U.S. Legal Support, you’ll receive fast and competitive pay plus unparalleled work flexibility in remote, in-person, and hybrid settings,” she said.

“We are excited to share the multiple programs Lexitas has created to help support our resources,” noted Kayla Lambert, senior marketing director for the firm. “We have partnered with Stenovate to offer discounts to all Lexitas reporters, plus any reporters — regardless of if you work for Lexitas — who can enjoy an array of medical and financial support benefits through our partnership with InsureWorkforce. Please stop by the Lexitas booth to learn more,” she added.

Also exhibiting this year is the College of Court Reporting, located in Valparaiso, Ind. The college prides itself on its commitment to excellence that surpasses industry standards by providing students with an education that empowers them to succeed academically and thrive professionally in the dynamic world of court reporting and realtime technology, according to Nicky Rodriquez, director of administration. “With a dedicated staff and cutting-edge programs, including computerized realtime transcription and online distance education, the college will be attending the Conference to promote its NCRA A to Z® program. So stop by to gather information to distribute to your network of prospective court reporting students,” she said.

For those interested in leveling up, Rodriquez added that EV360 Educational Solutions, which will also be exhibiting, is backed by a team with more than 40 years of court reporting education expertise and stands at the forefront of effective strategic court reporting education consulting. “Our comprehensive approach emphasizes theory instruction, skill development, and innovative testing methods, enabling us to deliver unparalleled program development and institution-wide services. Stop by our booth to learn more about how we can partner with you to help you level up in your career,” she said.

Attendees can also learn more about the products Advantage Software is offering when they visit the company’s booth. “Advantage Software is thrilled to introduce Eclipse 11, featuring revolutionary speech-assisted steno reporting tools: Boost, Boost Flow, and Boost Edit,” said David Jordan, the firm’s vice president of operations. “These tools provide real-time augmentation for translation assistance and editing capabilities. Eclipse 11 also includes a new Plugins system, making it the most easily expandable CAT software on the market. With this release, we are proud to demonstrate our dedication to providing innovative solutions to our customers,” he added.

Need any repairs done while at the Conference? Stop by the Houston Steno Repair booth and learn more about the services owner Efrain De Leon offers. “I have been refurbishing, servicing, repairing, retrofitting, and overhauling steno writers since 1984, and opened up my own business in 1998. Reporters can drop their writers at my booth and pick them up the next day,” De Leon said.

Also exhibiting this year is Horizon Legal Solutions with offices nationwide. “Horizon Legal Solutions has provided expert translation and interpretation services nationwide since 2006,” said Karina I. De La Cruz, the company’s CEO. “Simply put, we provide both verbal interpreters and written translators for any language, anywhere in the U.S., for any type of project or need.”

Attendees can also learn more about the services Real Time Legal Video offers, including providing high-quality video deposition streaming, video conferencing, and video recording for legal proceedings, according to Alex Acosta, the company’s operations/trial services coordinator.

The firm also specializes in IT services, offering technical support, network management, and software solutions tailored to the specific needs of legal professionals, ensuring a seamless integration of technology into their operations. “With our combined expertise in legal video and IT services, Real Time Legal Video Inc. aims to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the legal industry,” Acosta added.

Deby Sebastian, national sales manager for ProCAT, a 41-year provider to the court reporting industry, invites all Conference attendees to visit the company’s booth this year. “We will be showcasing some new and exciting enhancements to the Xpression, as well as the Winner software. We look forward to seeing you in Houston,” she said.

According to Thomas “Tom” Banda, a U.S. veteran and principal owner of Geek-A-Byte, a full-service IT company, representatives will be on hand to showcase and sell the new Lenovo X1 Carbon and the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 & T15. “We will also be offering audio, steno writer, Windows troubleshooting, and laptop tune-ups for $75. We specialize in court reporter configured laptops,” Banda added.

Stenograph, based in Downers Grove, Ill., will also be in the Expo Hall highlighting the firm’s complete line of products that take reporters from writing all the way through transcript production, said Jenny DuPrey, marketing manager. “We look forward to showcasing CATalyst Check It, which saves reporters and scopists up to three-and-a-half hours of editing per week, CaseTestify, the complete remote legal proceeding solution, and YesLaw, for transcript production. Reporters can stop by our booth to experience the most advanced writer technology, the industry leading Luminex II,” she added.
