NCRA PAC fundraiser breaks record

The NCRA Political Action Committee (PAC) met and exceeded its goal of $5,000 at its annual Gift Basket Extravaganza raffle held at the NCRA Conference & Expo in Houston, Texas, last month. Regional favorites such as blue crabs from Maryland, lobsters from Maine, and wine from California were donated by state associations to raise a total of $5,920.

“Year after year, I am consistently overwhelmed by the effort put forth by the many affiliated state associations that donate baskets to our annual NCRA PAC Gift Basket Extravaganza and our amazing members who contribute to the fundraiser,” says Jocelynn A. Moore, Esq., NCRA Director of Government Relations. “With their help, we surpassed this year’s fundraising goal and received the greatest number of contributions ever since hosting the Extravaganza. This is an enormous success for the NCRA PAC, and now we will be working with the NCRA PAC Governing Board to create a giving plan to ensure that these funds go towards our allies and supporters in Congress,” she added.

Attendees gather to hear the raffle numbers called.

Oregon included a baby Bigfoot plushie in their basket, the basket from Utah had walking sticks, and the basket from Colorado was a fancy laptop backpack that could lock. North Carolina and Mississippi each donated treats and goods made by local artisans. Every state was so creative and included items that really highlighted their state and state association.

Moore would like to extend a special thanks to all state associations that were gracious enough to donate baskets to the PAC Gift Basket Extravaganza and to all our wonderful NCRA members who contributed. “Without their help, we would have not been able to raise the most amount of funds in the history of the NCRA PAC!”
