Learning how to break into a new career

On December 5 NCRA staff hosted a Virtual Open House for prospective court reporting and captioning students. We piloted this event earlier in the year and expanded our reach with this winter session. Opportunities such as this are one of the many ways NCRA is working to recruit and educate others on the court reporting and captioning professions.

School representatives hosted breakout room sessions via Zoom to answer questions and educate participants on the opportunities available at their programs. Participants had overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding the event and noted that being able to ask questions of educators one-on-one was a highlight of the event.

And remember that 2024 Court Reporting & Captioning Week is just around the corner. Feb. 3-10, 2024, marks NCRA’s 12th annual celebration of the stenographic court reporting and captioning professions. To get an early start on celebrating, visit our Court Reporting & Captioning Week resources page with downloadable marketing and promotional items. An updated 2024 resources page will launch with new items on Dec. 20, but be sure to check in often as new items are continuously being added.
