Early Bird rates for #NCRALouisville end next week

This year educational sessions are being offered from Thursday afternoon through Saturday, with in-person skills testing available on Sunday, Aug. 4. In-person skills testing will be offered for the RSR, RPR, CRR, and CRC. Slots are limited and more information can be found at ncra.org/louisvilleskt

Speed and Realtime Contests – Wednesday, July 31, and Thursday, Aug. 1

Sign up to compete in this year’s Speed Contest (held on Wednesday) or the Realtime Contest (held on Thursday) or just stop by to cheer on your colleagues as they stretch their skills as champions.

Speed Contest – Wednesday, July 31, 9-10 a.m. for dictation. Transcription time follows.

Vendor Training Workshops – Thursday, Aug. 1, 8 a.m-12 p.m.

The most frequent advice from the tech-savvy is to know your software inside and out. And here’s your chance to take a deep dive into your software with trainers from Stenograph or Advantage Software/Eclipse. Come in early for an intensive half-day of training.

Captioning and Realtime Boot Camps – Thursday, Aug. 1, 8-11 a.m.

Improve your realtime by registering for one of two workshops led by captioning experts. These two Boot Camps will teach you what you need to know to expand your skills in the legal arena and provide you with the groundwork for a leap to broadcast and CART captioning.

Dictionary Jumpstart – Thursday, Aug. 1, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Are you really, really happy with your realtime translation? Attend this workshop and you’ll receive Dictionary Jumpstart Lite (a $99 value) and Anissa R. Nierenberger, RPR, CRR, CRC, CRI, will teach you how to build the right way. Hint: This doesn’t mean entering only perfect entries! We’ll enter up to 1,000 words per hour and get your dictionary on track to make you look like a realtime rock star!

REMINDER: When booking your hotel for the 2024 NCRA Conference & Expo in Louisville, Ky., please be sure to do so through the official registration page located here. NCRA’s discounted room block runs Wednesday, July 31, through Saturday, Aug. 3, only. Please do not call the hotel directly or book your room through the hotel website. You will be directed to an outsourced call center and discounted rates may not be applied.

Group rate

  • Special rates apply from 7/31/2024 – 8/3/2024 at $199 per night plus taxes (room tax: 16.07% per night).
  • The discounted group rate ends on Monday, July 8, 2024, or whenever the block is filled, whichever comes first.
  • Check-in time: 3 p.m. or later
  • Check-out time: Any time before 11 a.m.

  • Fee of one-night room rate plus tax: For reservations canceled within 7 days of your arrival date.
