NCRA PAC breaks annual fundraising record for second year, projected to hold most cash in 14 years

The National Court Reporters Association Political Action Committee (NCRA PAC) set an all-time fundraising record for the second consecutive year through its annual state gift basket raffle at the 2025 NCRA Conference & Expo. The event, held in Minneapolis, Minn., is projected to push NCRA PAC’s cash on hand to the highest level in 14 years.

“It takes a village,” said NCRA PAC Chair Isaiah Leslie, a firm owner based in Southern California. “I’d like to thank those who contributed as well as our NCRA PAC Governing Board members past and present.”

Since its establishment in 1981, NCRA PAC has focused on supporting candidates for federal office who promote and advance the court reporting, professional captioning, and legal videography professions. At its core, NCRA PAC aims to build and sustain legislative relationships that advance the Association’s agenda by electing and reelecting friends of NCRA to Congress, communicating the organization’s key issues to policymakers on Capitol Hill, and fostering connections that benefit our members’ professions.

“For a second consecutive year, NCRA members have answered the call to action in droves,” said NCRA President Cindy Isaacsen, RPR. “If court reporters want to have a seat at the table in Washington, D.C., and not be on the menu when it comes to AI, then now is the time to do two things: make a generous contribution to NCRA PAC and mark your calendars for NCRA’s annual Leadership and Legislative Boot Camp.”

The ability for NCRA PAC to cut competitive checks for campaign contributions serves as a powerful tool, amplifying the Association’s voice and strengthening its negotiations with key stakeholders on Capitol Hill. NCRA is competing not just with AI or digital, but with every issue that Congress is working on: the military, international affairs, domestic policy, and more.

“A contribution to NCRA PAC will have the most effect in terms of members investing their time and energy over the next year,” NCRA PAC Administrator Colin Brehm stated. “In an effort to maintain this enthusiasm, PAC is going to be launching a year-round fundraising strategy to keep this momentum going and build the Association’s war chest.”
