The NCRA Political Action Committee (PAC) might not sound like the most festive topic, but as we turn the page into a brand-new year, it remains one of the most powerful tools we have to protect and elevate our profession. I’m here to invite you to step into 2026 with purpose, confidence, and the determination to make a difference.
When I joined my state’s court reporting association a few years ago, I was asked to serve as a National Congress of State Associations (NCSA) delegate. Without a clue what that meant, I decided to leave my comfort zone and go along for the ride. A few years later, I attended the NCRA Leadership & Legislative Boot Camp and found myself on Capitol Hill. A new year truly can inspire a new beginning, and that experience opened my eyes to the impact we can have when we show up.
NCRA’s PAC is powered by NCRA members who are driven and dedicated to supporting the important work of court reporters and captioners. Through contributions from members like you, the PAC team is able to strengthen relationships with the lawmakers and decision-makers who directly influence our livelihoods, our standards, and our future.
NCRA’s PAC isn’t partisan — it’s professional. It exists to help us put safeguards in place, advocate respectfully and effectively, and ensure that our expertise is heard and valued where it matters most.
Think of the NCRA PAC as your professional New Year’s resolution in action: a commitment to protecting what matters. I’m no lobbyist, but I believe deeply in the future of our field. And your contribution, in any amount, helps keep us at the forefront when decisions are made about how the record is created, maintained, and protected.
So as we ring in the new year, let’s start strong. Make supporting the NCRA PAC part of your 2026 goals, and together let’s ensure a bright, powerful year ahead for our profession!
