Now open: Gina Battaglia Memorial Student Intern Scholarship. Apply now!

The National Court Reporters Foundation is pleased to announce submissions for the Gina Battaglia Memorial Student Intern Scholarship are now open. The scholarship is intended to help an NCRA student member who has been an intern in the past 12 months.

Now in its 4th year, the scholarship was created by NCRF Trustees and Angel Gatherers Committee members to honor the memory of Gina Battaglia, daughter of Angel Stephanie Zeder Battaglia, RMR, CRR, a freelance court reporter from Hinsdale, Ill. Two awards of $2,000 are available.

Gina Battaglia passed away unexpectedly in October 2022. Her mother’s Facebook practice colleagues and other court reporting friends started an NCRF fundraiser to honor Gina’s memory. She is also now an NCRF Memorial Angel.


Applicants must be nominated by their court reporting programs and must also submit a letter of recommendation and an essay. Judicial, CART, and captioning students are encouraged to apply. The deadline to apply is March 13. See the scholarship page for full eligibility and submission details.

The 2025 recipients were Mariana Schmidt from Munhall, Pa., a student at the Community College of Allegheny County, in Allegheny, Pa., and Sydney Slocum from Eddyville, Iowa, a student at Des Moines Area Community College in Des Moines, Iowa. Find out more about last year’s winners.
