There is still time left to apply for the Allison Hall Reporting Education (AHRE) Shine Student Scholarship, but applicants should act soon, as the window closes June 30.
The National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) will award four students each a $1,000 scholarship to help them advance their court reporting and captioning education.
Established by NCRF Angel Allie Hall, RDR, CRR, CRI, owner of Allison Hall Reporting Education, this new annual NCRF scholarship is designed to support students who demonstrate dedication, professionalism, and progress in their stenographic training.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a current NCRA student member
- Be enrolled in a stenographic court reporting program
- Have passed at least one Q&A or literary test at a minimum of 140 words per minute
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, with academic transcript required
- Demonstrate professionalism, motivation, and strong work ethic through a letter of recommendation
Application Process
To apply, students must submit:
- A completed application form
- An instructor verification form
- A copy of their most recent academic transcript
- A letter of recommendation from an instructor or internship supervisor
A 300- to 500-word essay outlining the roles of technology, training, and personal discipline in their development as a future stenographer. Complete details and application documents are available on the NCRA scholarship page.
