So far in this series we have looked at how your membership grants you access to year-round education and exclusive digital communities and provides a platform for you to foster the next generation of professionals in the field.
This month we shift focus to NCRA itself as we look at one of the most critical benefits available to our members: elections and governance.
As the largest organization representing court reporters, captioners, and legal videographers, your membership is a powerful tool that can help shape the future of the profession. NCRA elections and governance participation provide members the opportunity to be leading voices within the organization and the profession writ large.
Leadership opportunities include:
Serving on the NCRA Board of Directors
By taking on a leadership role, you can help shape the future of our profession, ensuring that current and future stenographic court reporters, captioners, and videographers have a strong and supportive association. Serving on the Board is not just about leadership; it is an opportunity to expand and strengthen your network of peers and increase NCRA’s influence within the legal profession.
Board members also advise on organizational structure and finances. As a director, you will be at the forefront of guiding the Association’s direction and initiatives, making a lasting difference for all members.
Committees and council membership
Every program and activity of the Association has a network of volunteers and staff responsible for its success. Volunteers work on committees, task forces, councils, and boards that recommend policy and accomplish the work of the association. Committees are great for those NCRA members looking to enhance their participation and have influence in the profession.
