Here’s why supporting the dues adjustment is vital

The National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) Board of Directors is urging all eligible voting members to support the 2025 dues adjustment measure calling for the first increase since 2019 to ensure that their Association remains viable and able to continue serving them effectively.

For more than 125 years NCRA has been the gold standard for certification in the court reporting, professional captioning, and legal videography communities as well as a steadfast advocate for its members and a provider of essential services. To ensure that this mission can continue and maintain the high level of support NCRA offers, members must take a bold step forward with the dues adjustment proposal before them.

Supporting the 2025 dues adjustment proposal is not just about meeting NCRA’s current needs; it is about securing your future. With this passage of this dues adjustment, you will be investing in the continued success of NCRA and the well-being of all members and their livelihoods.

Here is a look back at the efforts of your Association; its Board of Directors; current and former officers; and various members of the court reporting, broadcast and CART captioning, and legal videography communities urging their colleagues to vote yes for this proposed dues adjustment:

Members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with how NCRA’s voting process works and important dates relating to the dues adjustment proposal. Eligible members of NCRA can participate in voting via a secure, online ballot starting July 24 within two hours after the close of the meeting for 24 hours regardless of whether or not they are attending the Conference. Those not attending may also livestream the Annual Business Meeting through the NCRA Learning Center by registering here. Registration is required. Please note, the meeting will be recorded and made available exclusively to NCRA members in the NCRA Learning Center for a limited time.

Remember, voting on the 2026 dues adjustment proposal will begin within two hours of the Annual Business Meeting taking place on July 24 in conjunction with the 2025 NCRA Conference & Expo taking place July 24-26 at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, in Minneapolis, Minn.
