NCRF online Peer-to-Peer Support groups offer a safe space: Next session Sept. 25

NCRF is proud to offer the second in its series of Peer-to-Peer Support ZoomUps, happening Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern. The confidential online space was created by NCRA President Cindy Isaacsen, RPR, and offers NCRA members a supportive outlet to candidly discuss their emotions and experiences stemming from the often challenging trials and depositions they encounter.

“Our profession is very demanding and oftentimes very stressful,” said Isaacsen of the need of members to connect and process the emotional weight of their work. “I feel that we need a safe space to connect and share with others who can understand the many challenges that we face daily. A peer support group is a great way to provide emotional support and offer strategies to help manage stress and anxiety and maintain mental health.”

NCRF’s Peer-to-Peer Support ZoomUps are available to all NCRA members and facilitated by certified peer and grief support expert Bev Perez, MSW. Sign up for one or more:

Bev Perez

Coach Bev Perez, MSW, is a former police officer who is certified in peer support and has specialized training in traumatic and work experiences. “The peer support initiative with NCRF members holds great significance for me because I have seen firsthand the transformative impact of peer support,” says Perez. “It reveals that we are not alone in our challenges and creates connections that unite us despite our differences. I am passionate about cultivating community, and that is exactly what peer support does.”

A place to share

“The NCRF Peer-to-Peer ZoomUps provide a safe, unrecorded space where attendees can share confidences, concerns, and experiences with colleagues who truly understand the unique stresses of the court environment,” said Jill Parker Landsman, NCRF Manager. “These sessions are designed to support practitioners who may be carrying or reliving traumatic content they’ve had to hear more than once. Our NCRA President Cindy Isaacsen, RPR, had the foresight to provide needed peer-to peer camaraderie.”

Please be advised that ZoomUp sessions will not be recorded. All discussions will be facilitated by a licensed professional. By registering for a session, participants acknowledge and agree to maintain the confidentiality of shared information and discussions. The series of NCRF Peer-to-Peer Support does not provide CEU or PDC credit.
