As we ushered in the new spring season of warmer weather and sunshine last month, NCRA welcomed the chance to host its seventh Virtual Open House to help spring prospective students forward into their next step professionally.
The goal continues to be to educate prospective court reporting and captioning students on their options through the use of Zoom breakout rooms. Prospective students met with educational leaders from several court reporting programs to gain insight and to get their questions answered directly.
Participants eagerly attended the event, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Trinity Cruz remarked that the main strength of the event was “bringing together different schools all in one place so we can get a chance to see what they offer.”
Serina Parrales, who recently completed the NCRA A to Z® Steno Machine Shorthand program, commented: “I liked that a couple of the schools provided slides. That was very informational (and) will be very helpful for me as I make my final decision.”
Like Parrales, many attendees recently completed the NCRA A to Z program and used this open house to take the next step into the career. This event is another way that NCRA continues its commitment to grow the profession. The A to Z Program has partnerships with industry leaders who provide exclusive offers to those who complete the program. We provide participants with our program list, which shares information about all possible court reporting programs. Programs were invited to participate in this list, which provides another avenue for students to use in finding a program that is right for them.
