Time is running out to apply for NCRF fall scholarships

Students and aspiring advocates have several opportunities to secure funding and professional development support through National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) scholarships, but application deadlines are fast approaching.

Whether you’re looking to build advocacy skills, offset tuition costs, or take the next step after completing an internship, NCRF offers scholarship opportunities designed to support future court reporters and captioners at every stage of their journey.

Applications for the Stenograph Milton H. Wright Memorial Scholarship close Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. Eastern. The scholarship, NCRF’s largest student scholarship, awards $5,000 in tuition assistance and includes a Luminex CSE Student writer, free CATalyst student software, training opportunities, and equipment discounts.

“Don’t miss out on your opportunity to apply for the premiere scholarship at the highest value,” said NCRF Chair Meredith A. Bonn, RPR, CRR. “Aspire to be recognized as one of the exceptional students in our industry!”

Students who have completed an internship and are preparing to enter the profession have until Dec. 4 to apply for the NCRF Student Intern Scholarship. Four recipients will receive $2,000 awards to help support the transition from student to working professional.

“An internship is a meaningful milestone in a student’s journey because it offers the opportunity to experience the profession firsthand and begin to see themselves as a working professional,” said Bonn. “The Student Intern Scholarship recognizes the dedication and commitment it takes to reach this major step while providing meaningful support to deserving NCRA student members.”

NCRF is also offering the quarterly Career Launcher Student Scholarship to help dedicated steno students get ahead. The scholarship covers the full cost of participating in this invaluable program: $100 for members and $175 for nonmembers. Five to seven winners are selected each quarter. The next deadline to apply is Dec. 11.

Your career starts with more than speed. Make sure you’re ready for everything that comes next.

Applications are open through Dec. 21 for the Linda Breech Memorial Advocacy Scholarship, which provides full registration to attend the 2027 NCRA Leadership & Legislative Boot Camp in Washington, D.C. Travel and accommodations are the responsibility of the recipient.

“This scholarship honors Linda Breech’s legacy by helping a student gain the know-how to advocate for the court reporting, captioning, and legal videography professions,” said NCRA State Government Relations Manager Colin Brehm.

Students interested in applying are encouraged to review eligibility requirements and application materials for each scholarship before the respective deadlines.
