Train to be an effective advocate for the profession in 2026

As the profession faces more legislative hurdles and the threat of artificial intelligence, it is critical that our members step up to the challenge and take advantage of opportunities to get involved. The upcoming 2026 Legislative and Leadership Boot Camp, set for March 1-3, 2026, in Alexandria, Va., and Washington, D.C., is one such opportunity.

Whether you’re new to grassroots engagement or looking to refine your skills, the NCRA Boot Camp will equip state leaders, court reporters, captioners, and legal professionals with the skills necessary for effective advocacy. Registration is now open.

“Certified stenographic court reporters are integral to our judicial system,” said Stefanie Allison, RPR, of Omaha, Neb., a past attendee. “Advocacy for the profession and protection of our legal system is imperative”

You too can learn to advocate for our profession by attending the NCRA Boot Camp.

  • Intensive training: Gain skills and strategies to advocate for your profession in state legislatures and Congress.
  • Hands-on practice: Engage in real-life scenarios to hone your advocacy skills and network with passionate NCRA members.
  • Capitol Hill advocacy experience: Put your training into action by meeting with elected representatives and their staff on Capitol Hill.

Don’t miss your chance to participate in this singular event of the year!

  • Registration Deadline: January 23, 2026.
  • Cost: $350 for NCRA members, $300 for a second member from the same state, and $450 for nonmembers.
  • Hotel: A discounted rate at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Alexandria Old Town is available for attendees. Details will be provided upon registration.
