Mrs. Fields announced as keynote speaker for 2021 NCRA Conference & Expo

Good business isn’t just about good cookies. It’s also about building a successful brand and company to back it. NCRA has announced that American entrepreneur Debbi Fields, founder of the Mrs. Fields cookie brand, will serve as keynote speaker at the Association’s 2021 Conference & Expo happening July 29-Aug. 1 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nev.

Fields, who came from what she calls humble beginnings, launched one of the nation’s most visible, successful dessert empires. Founded in 1977, the baker and cookie lover built a business from scratch which she later sold for $450 million. Today, in addition to cookies, the Mrs. Fields company also includes several candy and chocolate entities as well as the nationally recognized TCBY (The Country’s Best Yogurt) brand.

Join your friends and colleagues this summer in Las Vegas at NCRA’s 2021 Conference & Expo and hear firsthand how Mrs. Fields launched one of the nation’s most well-known companies as a housewife with a passion for cookies from her kitchen to the world stage.  She will share how she built her business based on quality, and she will explain that implementing her personal philosophy “good enough never is” will lay a solid foundation upon which to build a lasting legacy in the court reporting and captioning industry.

This year’s Conference & Expo will also serve as host to a Guinness Challenge to see if the current world record speed of 360 words per minute at a 97.23 percent accuracy rate can be broken. The record is currently held by NCRA member Mark T. Kislingbury, FAPR, RDR, CRR, from Houston, Texas, who set it at the 2004 NCRA Convention & Expo. The last Guinness Challenge was held at NCRA’s 2013 Convention & Expo.

The Guinness Challenge will be held on the afternoon of July 29. Space is limited to 10 contestants. To sign up, send an email to pr@ncra.org. Sign-up will close once all slots are filled.
