Learn how to fight for the good

The fourth session in NCRA’s free five-part Leadership Development Series is scheduled for July 28, 7:30-9 p.m. Eastern and titled “The Intentional Leader: How to fight for the people around you.” This session will focus on how to create the leader mindset by fighting for the highest good of those you lead, as well as more about the Platinum Rule: Lead others the way they need to be led.

The sessions, which run through August, are being offered via Zoom and led by Jesse Walker of Intentional Leader Coaching. Walker, who served as keynote speaker at NCRA’s 2026 Leadership & Legislative Boot Camp, is a leadership coach and consultant who helps people unlock their potential.

According to Walker, this fourth session of the series will also address how to know others to lead others and will introduce attendees to a support challenge matrix.

“I have learned a lot about my personal leadership style, that of others, and how those interact,” said President of the Ohio Court Reporters Association Lin Riffle, RDR, CRR, CRC, who has attended all of the sessions to date.  “These sessions aren’t intended to apply only to our professional world. The training has benefitted me with personal interactions, my volunteer work, and beyond.”

The first three sessions are available now to view in the NCRA Learning Center. The cost to attend the sessions is free to NCRA members. Nonmembers can purchase the recorded sessions for $45 per session. Attendees are strongly encouraged to attend all five of the sessions for continuity purposes.

The objective of the series is to help NCRA members make the move from leadership uncertainty to empowerment by laying the framework of what is a leader, challenging participants in their individual growth, and encouraging members toward deeper engagement with Association work.

“Jesse is an engaging leadership coach. I thought my introverted side would dread the breakout rooms, but I have found them enjoyable and helpful,” noted Riffle, who said she highly recommends this series to all NCRA members.

“Within the smaller breakout groups, we gain insight as to how the session’s topics resonate differently depending on each of our personalities and experiences. This is a really great (free!) offering from NCRA, and I hope lots of members take advantage of the live sessions, if possible, or the recordings,” she added.

All sessions will be recorded and made available in the NCRA Learning Center.

Registration to attend the live sessions is open now, and you can register once for all sessions.

The full schedule for this five-part series is below. Live sessions run from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Eastern. Sessions that have been completed are available through the NCRA Learning Center.
