Student fun planned for Court Reporting & Captioning Week

NCRA’s Student/Teacher committee has been hard at work creating an exciting lineup of free webinars and activities during Court Reporting & Captioning Week. Join your fellow students in learning the art of practice on Monday, take a deep dive into the wonderful world of CART on Wednesday, and round out the week on Friday with some entertaining Karaoke (court reporter style). There will be door prizes given out, so you don’t want to miss a moment of the CRCW fun!

Monday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. Eastern | Ready, Set, Practice – Do I Have the Time?

Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. Eastern | CRCW: The Wonderful World of Captioning by Marjorie Peters, FAPR, RMR, CRR, and Teresa Russ, CRI

Students are invited to learn about the exciting world of captioning and why captioning could be a great career option. CART and broadcast captioners will lead a discussion about what is new in captioning and the types of captioning platforms. They will share their most fun and awkward jobs. Don’t miss this chance to learn from those in the know. Friday, Feb. 11 at 7 p. m. Eastern | Court Reporter Karaoke Night

Students, it’s going to be a night of fun! Join us as we witness six stenographers: Captioners, freelancers, official, CART providers, and a student reporter write in realtime to love songs. They will share their realtime screens via Zoom so that you can see their realtime and steno outlines. Register here .
