The National Court Reporters Foundation’s (NCRF) Legacy Society offers members an impactful way to support the future of the profession through planned giving. By including NCRF in their estate plans, donors help ensure that critical programs — from student scholarships and grants to professional development and preservation efforts — continue for generations to come.
Legacy gifts provide long-term stability for the Foundation while reflecting a donor’s commitment to a profession that has shaped their career and community. For many, the decision to join the Legacy Society is both practical and deeply personal.
Tami Keenan, FAPR, RPR, CPE, a retired court reporter from Battle Creek, Mich., who currently works as a scopist, has seen that impact firsthand over her more than 30-year career. A former NCRF Chair and longtime volunteer and supporter, Keenan has been closely connected to the Foundation’s work and mission.
“This profession has given me so much — from the myriad opportunities to the incredible community. Court reporting has truly shaped my life,” she said. “For me, joining the Legacy Society was about making sure this profession continues to thrive. I chose to include NCRF in my estate planning because I want to give back to something that has given so much to me.”
Keenan added that legacy giving offers reassurance that her support will continue well into the future. “It’s comforting to know that my contribution will continue to support future generations — helping students enter the field and professionals grow throughout their careers,” she said.
Through the Legacy Society, members can play a direct role in strengthening the profession’s future. Planned gifts not only sustain NCRF’s mission, but also create opportunities for the next generation to succeed.
